A Giant Among Men...

Quoting an unnamed poet, President Monson said quote: "'Here and there, and now and then, god makes a giant among men.' President Hinckley was such a giant - a giant of knowledge, of faith, of testimony, of compassion, of vision."

Many years a go my Grandpa Jolley was diagnosed with prostate cancer which quickly moved to his bones. My grandma would drive him down every week from Idaho for his treatments. This was very hard on both of them. My Grandpa was very ill and driving was very hard on my Grandma. It was also very hard on my Mother and her sister who both live in Utah. They both had very young children at the time and it was too hard on my Grandpa to stay at either of their houses. As children we didn't understand how sick Grandpa was and thought when he would come it was time to climb up on his lap and smother him with hugs and kisses. Staying in a hotel was not very comfortable or economical. President Hinckleys daughter lived in my Aunts ward and heard of my Grandparents story. President Hinckley had converted a garage into a small apartment off of his daughters home and would often stay there to get away. His daughter explained the story to President Hinckley and without hesitation he offered his apartment to my grandparents. They would stay there while my Grandpa was undergoing radiation at the U of U. This was such a blessing to our family, and we will never forget the kindness President Hinckley showed . I am sure that Grandpa Jolley was one of the many who was there to greet President Hinckley when he returned home to our Heavenly Father.

We love you President Hinckley and will always remember what a wonderful man you were.

FAMILY
I love my family so much. To be apart of a family like mine is so divine, where love is shown hurt is shared our love for each other is never impaired. We talk we laugh we cry, but we are a family and we do it all together. For as a family we do it all as one you hurt one you hurt all and as a family unit we will all stand tall. For we are family a family full of strength a family full of love a family no one can touch. That is why I love my family so much.

A book is like a garden carried in the pocket.
