Seriously! As if having sick children wasn't bad enough now their Dad is sick as well! Jake woke up this morning with a sore throat and after a trip to the doctors found out he has strep throat! It looks like this illness won't leave until it has infected all of us!
Having a sick husband is almost harder than having all the kids sick at one time! He is so sensitive when he is sick, so every bump in the car feels like a mountain and every whisper sounds like a scream! AHHHHHH! My good friend Renee must have a husband just like mine. When we returned home from the doctors she had left homemade chicken noodle soup and a care package on the porch for Jake. It contained everything from cough drops and tissues to a magazine and a movie. Can I just say I have the best friends!! They are always looking out for me. If they could only get this bug out of my house life would be so much better!!
Now if this story didn't make you sad let me just add a little more. Christian came home from school today with another sore throat. Another trip to the doctor and more antibiotics, Christian has strep again!!! Poor little guy! He is however excited to spend another day at home especially with his Dad!
Does it sound like I am complaining??? Really I am not. As CRAZY as this may sound I enjoy the days that Jake is under the weather, at least we get to have him home. He was scheduled to go out of town and was going to miss Andrew's birthday. At least now he will be home to eat cake or maybe he'll only be able to handle the ice cream.

When Daddy's Sick
Daddy's sick in bed today.
Doctor says he has the flu.
Brother's got a stuffy nose
and we all might get it, too.
When daddy's sick it makes us sad
he doesn't feel so good.
He's having juice and medicine
like the doctor said he should.
It's not the same when daddy's sick,our hugs are all sick, too,
and kisses for our boo-boo's
also have the flu.
Our sads are even sadder
so our happys aren't as glad
and when we're being naughty,
that even feels more bad.
We'll get some more juice in him,
'cause I remember something else,
Who's cooking dinner... mommy's taking care of daddy?

We experience the same thing in our home...when the husband is sick it is worse than sick kids. Good luck!
I'm sorry that your family is sick, again! However, it does seem like an elaborate excuse to skip out on a playdate with Fischer!
